did anyone see how high ivan wagner got to block a shot late in the virginia-ncsu game... the kid nearly hit the bottom of the backboard... he came out of nowhere to block that shot!!

wow!! he can really jump... he has a 7'3" high jump (which is a texas state record!!)...

as for wagner being not good enough for the acc, i think it depends on how hard he works throughout the years...

tommy gugliotta got a scholarship because jimmy v knew tommy's dad...

tommy worked hard, and made himself into a first team all-acc player his senior season... he torched the heels for 36 points one nite... now he makes 4 million bucks (or is it 5??) with the t-wolves...

any other success stories such as this??

College Career Notes: Ivan is a promising young player who will provide support at point guard off the bench this winter...An outstanding athlete with a good outside shooting touch, he should fit into the Wolfpack system well...Has tremendous speed which is especially effective in up-tempo situations.

High School Career: A three-time team captain at Roosevelt High School, where he averaged 18.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists as a senior to earn first-team all-state honors in the Texas 5-A classification, the state's largest division...Helped lead RHS to a 27-11 record...Shot 52 percent from the field, 41 percent from the three-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line...Became the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,825 career points...Had 21 dunks during his senior season...Played in the Texas Associate of Basketball Coaches All-Star Game in May and scored 24 points against some of the top players in the state...Averaged 21 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a junior...Shot 50 percent from the field overall, 33 percent from three point range and 79 percent from the free throw line...Had 28 dunks as a junior...Played that summer for the San Antonio AAU team that won the state title and finished eighth in the ACCU National Tournament at Winston-Salem...Averaged 23 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists as a sophomore...Shot 46 percent from the field, 86 percent from the free throw line and 30 percent from three-point range...Also starred in track and field, earning national honors as a senior in the high jump with a leap of 7-3 1/2, which was the second-best prep jump in the country.
